The Chamber partnered with the University of Hawaii - West Oahu on two events to expand student internship opportunities.  A student came up with the idea and approached the Chamber Executive Director for assistance.

The first event was an Internship and Career Prep Workshop, held March 14, which drew 50 students and featured three human resource specialists (from Hawaiian Airlines, Bishop & Co., and Hawaiian Electric). They spoke on topics including how to write a resume and how to prepare for a job interview.

The Fair and Networking event, held April 17, drew 120 students and 23 businesses and organizations. Surveys of both students and participating businesses and organizations indicated a high level of satisfaction of the two events - and supported efforts to stage such events in the future!
